David Weisberg

David E. Weisberg has been involved with the application of computer technology to engineering design for more than 50 years. He has a BS and an MS in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the early 1960’s he was the lead programmer on one of the earliest attempts to apply computer graphics techniques to automated drafting. Mr. Weisberg has many years of experience in the development, planning, marketing and sales of CAD/CAM systems used in electrical, mechanical and AEC design and in technical documentation while with Calma, Tektronix and for 12 years, Auto-trol Technology.

In late 1991, Mr. Weisberg left Auto-trol to start Technology Automation Services (TAS), the original publisher of Engineering Automation Report and acquired A-E-C Automation Newsletter.

Weisberg provides consulting services to users and vendors of CAD/CAM systems and to investors in these companies. He is a frequent contributor to numerous industry publications including CADalyst, Pro/E The Magazine, Computer Graphics World, and MicroStation Manager and is often quoted in publications such as InfoWorld and Computerworld. Weisberg is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences where his particular emphasis has been on managing CAD/CAM technology and in the directions the industry is taking. He is a Charter Member of National Computer Graphics Association, a Charter Member of the Computer Graphics Pioneers and its current president, a member of the NCGA CAD Society, American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, AM/FM International, American Society of Military Engineers, and a member of the U.S. Navy’s Advisory Committee on Computer-Based Design.
