BETHESDA, MD, January 22, 2003 — Cyon Research Corporation, a provider of market knowledge for CAD-centric PLM, today announced that Alan Kay and Jeff Harrow, two renowned industry visionaries, will be keynote speakers at COFES2003, the 4th annual Congress On the Future of Engineering Software to be held on May 15-18, 2003.

Kay, who recently joined HP Labs as Senior Fellow, is best known for his groundbreaking work in the development of the laptop computer, the invention of the overlapping window interface, and the invention of modern object-oriented programming.

Harrow, now Principal at The Harrow Group, has previously been the chief technologist for the Corporate Strategy Groups of both Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation, where he invented the first iconic network management prototype for DEC Networks. Harrow now works directly with businesses and industry groups to help them better understand the strategic implications of contemporary and future computing environments and technologies.

“COFES has found ideal keynote speakers in both these outstanding individuals,” said Dr. Joel Orr, chief visionary of Cyon Research Corporation. “Jeff Harrow has impeccable IT credentials, outstanding business experience, and is a spellbinding speaker. His commercial experience will help us focus COFES on the business issues we all have to face as we use, rely on, and benefit from engineering technology.”

Brad Holtz, president and CEO of Cyon Research Corporation, stated, “Alan Kay is one those few individuals who have that ‘WOW!’ impact on the world. He is one of the most outstanding visionaries in the computer industry and his work for over 30 years has amazed his peers and created new directions of thought. We are extremely fortunate to have COFES2003 start the discussion of the future with Alan as the kickoff keynote.”
