COFES Russia 2013 Keynote Speakers Announced
--Yurii Udaltsov, Rusnano Board Member, and Jack Byers, CEO of VMI, will keynote the international design and engineering software event in Peterhof, Russia--

BETHESDA, MD, May 24, 2013—Cyon Research today announced keynote speakers for COFES Russia 2013, held May 30-June 1 in Peterhof, Russia at the New Peterhof Hotel. Jack Byers, chief executive officer of VMI (www.e-vmi.com), will give the Friday keynote address and Yurii Udaltsov, board member and director of innovation-based development at the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (Rusnano), will give the Saturday keynote address. This event is the first multi-day COFES to be held outside of the United States. The focus of COFES Russia 2013 is the intersection of global trends and the potential for those trends to impact business in Russia.

Jack Byers will present the “Past, Present, and Future of Engineering Software.” His Friday keynote address will discuss how the next big developments will fuel subsequent generations and present opportunities for Russia and beyond.

Yurii Udaltsov will present “Investing in Technologies for Innovation.” His Saturday keynote will discuss Rusnano’s experience in material-based high-tech investment and the role of IT technologies as an enabler of high-tech innovations. In addition to a discussion of relevant and interesting Rusnano projects, Udaltsov’s keynote will focus on integration into the global innovation process, as well as developments in Russia as a potential source of engineering, IT and R&D source for innovation start-ups.

COFES Russia 2013 will follow the format of its parent event, the annual COFES in Arizona. For COFES Russia, the conversation will be bi-lingual (English and Russian with simultaneous translation), focusing on discussions at varying scales. There are two key themes for COFES Russia 2013:

  • An exploration of major global trends that will have a big impact on the business of design and engineering and the software that supports design and engineering.
  • How these trends are likely to affect design and engineering in Russia and the impact these trends may have on software.
